A Typical Weekend
Lately I’ve been on a cookie baking spree of somewhat epic proportions. I’ve tried my hand at peanut butter, chocolate chip, peanut butter chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, chocolate oatmeal – you name it, it’s likely to have come out of my oven sometime in recent history. Some, like the peanut butter filled peanut butter cookies with peanut pieces, have been completely legendary. Others, like the too-crispy-for-my-taste oatmeal-date cookies, won’t be gracing my kitchen again – at least not while I’m running the show.
Yesterday evening, however, I encountered a recipe worth sharing from the unlikeliest source – my ADT security services rep. Who would have thought the adt security home alarm system company rep would have provided me with a recipe when coming to look at our home adt alarm. As a matter of fact, the recipe is all I’ll be sharing because I’m keeping all the cookies for myself! Yum! The best part is baking them is a breeze. All you need is a box of Devil’s Food Chocolate cake mix, half a cup of oil, two eggs, and whatever else you want in your cookies – you can throw in pecans, walnuts, chocolate chips, raisins, or just leave them be. Combine all ingredients, drop cookies by the spoonful onto a greased baking sheet, and flatten with a fork dipped in cold water. Bake them at 350 degrees for about ten to twelve minutes. You won’t be disappointed.
